Many of today’s learning experiences are based on rigid, standard programs that often have little to do with a student’s skills, preferences, and strengths. Institutions and corporate training programs need to consider adopting more active learning strategies and shift towards adaptive learning methods that drives better outcomes in less time. Personalized, right-sized, self-paced, online learning opportunities combined with in-person engagements can serve as a foundation for a new generation of learners.
This morning, Global Knowledge launched a new on-demand learning experience – the Global Knowledge Learning Platform. This is a project I’ve had the opportunity to be part of since its inception and is the result of extensive research, customer feedback and input from countless colleagues throughout our organization. Thank you to the incredible team that made it happen. Today our GK Learning Platform offers over 100 IT and business skills courses designed and produced by industry-leading subject matter experts.
Instead of just telling you about it, we want you to experience it for yourself. As a promotion, on September 21 only, we’re offering all visitors to our site the option to receive a free three-month digital subscription to an on-demand course. I hope many of you will take advantage of the opportunity to discover our new on-demand learning experience.

Training improves your capabilities to harness technology, solve problems and deliver better business results. Experience our new platform for yourself by choosing one of five free on-demand courses:
Introduction to Cybersecurity
In this course, you will discover the importance of cybersecurity in information technology. The objective is to understand cyber-attacks and the techniques used to take control of an unsecure system. This course also presents the defensive measures security teams can take to prevent attacks, and provides an overview of the malicious software types used in computer networks.
Linux on Azure: Up and Running
As a Linux professional, you will learn the basics of using Azure tools, provisioning and managing Linux virtual machines in Azure, and configuring Azure networking through hands-on challenges in this course. After you complete each challenge, you may validate your work by reviewing example solutions or by submitting your work to an Azure subject matter expert for review and feedback.
Understanding the Cloud Business Application & Vendor Landscape
Through case study scenarios and hands-on exercises, this course teaches you how to research major cloud providers and differentiate between contenders. Learn how to determine how well a provider fulfills your capability and regulatory requirements according to business needs. You will leave this class with the tools and information you need to map your own business requirements to one or more cloud-based solutions.
The Business Analyst in an Agile Environment
Requirements development and business analysis activities are different in an Agile environment compared to a traditional waterfall environment. Business analysts can fill many different roles on an Agile team and normally don’t restrict their activities to traditional requirements development and documentation. In Agile, analysts must be able to produce requirements faster and in different ways in order for the project to be successful.
Getting Started with Git
Git is a distributed source control system growing in popularity among software developers due to its powerful support for branching and merging. However, it has a steep learning curve because it works differently than most other source control systems, and its commands and behaviors can be difficult to understand. This course focuses on performing common tasks using the command line interface to help you gain a better understanding how Git works.

EXPERIENCE OUR DIGITAL PLATFORM
Too many online IT training courses are just an instructor, PowerPoint deck and camera that are produced and then released without updates. Our content starts with subject matter experts who design, build and deliver industry-leading learning experiences including extensive videos (with transcripts and closed caption), knowledge checks, interactive labs, moderated peer-to-peer discussion forms, live expert mentoring, and so much more.
KEY LESSONS FROM LAUNCHING THE PLATFORM
Launching a quality learning platform with over one hundred courses on schedule – within nine months from project commencement – and under budget is an experience that the team will remember for years to come. Despite a sense of urgency often associated with compromise, we built a solution designed to deliver an effective and engaging on-demand learning experience based on a platform that is scalable, maintainable, and extensible.
Alongside the learning platform, the team implemented an API gateway for microservices, asynchronous communications engine, distributed search and analytics, centralized log management, and single sign-on solutions that are part of a broader enterprise digital transformation and IT modernization initiative at Global Knowledge.
We learned a lot along the way. Sixteen success factors covering people, processes, and technology were compiled in this slideshow highlighting lessons learned with fitting and pointed movies posters and attributions. Before glancing through the slides, what lessons learned would you associate with the following move titles?
